And, well, good news and bad news. We'll get to that in a bit. Let's start the show

Wolverine: Weapon X costume, because that hasn't been done to death yet. Oh well, so much for Days of Future Past Logan.

Hulk: Planet Hulk costume, like I predicted. Good.

Deadpool: He is dressed up like Cable, in the loosest sense of the word. Either Capcom is trolling Cable fans or Deadpool has actually worn this outfit in the comics and I've never seen it.

Felicia: Yellow Iris from Battle Circuit. Did not see THAT coming. Apparently this is a Beat 'em up game Capcom made with a cat girl as a playable character. I think I've seen it before, I just don't know why or where.

Trish: Gloria. Again, just as predicted. Fine, though it still sucks that I'm more or less going to be buying something that was already there.

Amaterasu: Jon Talbain. What. That's just so random. I mean I know who he is, I know they wanted to get him in the game, I just never would have predicted this. Also Missle will probably have this as his DLC color, since I only was Phoenix Wright. We'll get to him in a bit.

Dormammu: Classic Outfit. Great, just like I predicted.

Vietiful Joe: Average Joe. Neat, though I'm not sure what he'll throw for his Voomerang. Maybe his hat? Also another one I predicted.

Tron Bonne: Servbot Head Gustaff. I probably should have seen this coming, but I'm still shocked.

Spider-Man: Scarlet Spider. I know people asked for him, but I just wanted to make a team of former MvC sprites with Cyber-Akuma and Shadow Lady and to get all the Spider-Armors in a single game. Oh well.

Magneto: His House of M outfit. So glad I predicted this last time. It's also apparently inspired by a Spanish King, namely Juan Carlos I. He apparently sued Marvel over them using his image in their comic. Still an awesome costume, hopefully Capcom doesn't face any legal trouble over this.

Nathan "Rad" Spencer: Finally I can use this character without feeling like a tool. He now has his ReArmed look. Again, I predicted this from the very start, all the way before DLC costumes were even a thing

Sir Arthur: Zombie Arthur in his underwear? And he turns into a skeleton when he usually loses his armor. Huh. So much for a Maximo revival.

She Hulk: I've heard this called Lawyer She Hulk and Judge She Hulk. Looks more like a Lawyer to me, and it is again something I predicted. So sad for Savage She Hulk though.

Zero: Okay, remember when I was worried that Capcom was trolling with Deadpool dressed as Cable? Well I really don't know what else to call this: Megaman X as Zero's DLC costume. I am certain this has pissed off a lot of people, although the reactions I've seen so far have actually been much better than expected. I honestly did hope that X would be a fully independent and playable character as DLC. I really don't want to hate Capcom for this, since I think a lot of people have been hating on them recently, but I'm still upset. Well, at least there's still a chance Classic will return.

Shuma-Gorath: Quoggoth. You know, Suma-Gorath's apprentice. The one that appeared in Wolverine: First Class issue #12. The one that doesn't even have a Marvel.wiki page, even though some warthog named Quog does. Yeah, that's the guy you can play as now. Interesting Side note, Quog actually predates most Marvel characters, having appeared in Marvel Comics Volume 1 issue 1. Yeah, this warthog is older than Captain America. Namor and the Original Human Torch just barely beat by the sheer fact that their stories came first in the issue.

Jill Valentine: Resident Evil 3 costume. Damn. Well that was the game that introduced Nemsis, so they felt it was fitting. Plus it shows enough skin that they can easily put the mind control device on her.

Phoenix: The Jim Lee Jean Grey design. I'm just gonna guess that she still uses the same Dark Phoenix costume, though if they decided to put her in the Black Queen outfit, you won't here me complain.

Mike Haggar: Final Fight 3 costume. Sort of predicted this, and I honestly like this costume the least. I would have preferred any other costume but this.

Taskmaster: UDON costume with hard light shield. I'm a freaking psychic here.

Hsien Ko: Her Sister, as a human. I called the human part, but I actually did think about dressing her up as her sister and might have posted it somewhere.

Ghost Rider: 2099. Awesome. At least it looks like Ghost Rider 2099. He's got metal arms, so that's good enough for me.

Hawkeye: Ronin. Another one I thought off but never put down online.

Firebrand: Red Arremer King. I think I predicted this back when Firebrand was revealed and jsut never posted it.

Doctor Strange: His Blue look from Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Apparently this is Necromancer, Stephen Strange from Counter Earth, which is somehow still in Universe 616. I'm gonna say I called it, but I threw a blanket statement out when I made that prediction.

Nemesis: Him with his shirt off. Gross. Apparently it's supposed to be him during his second mutation or something.

Iron Fist: Ultimate Iron Fist. God DAMMIT! He looks douchey to me. Would have preferred his modern look.

Vergil: Corrupt Vergil (?) Yeah, no idea what that means. Looks a lot like Dante's Sparda costume, but with pointy hair. Maybe my friend knows what it means.

Nova: His Original Look, but without the yellow arms. I guess I predicted this?

Phoenix Wright: Young Phoenix. Damn, I was hoping for Hobo Phoenix, or at least Furio Tigre. Oh well. Wonder what Maya will wear?

Rocket Raccoon: His Grey Furred Green Outfit from his mini-series. Hooray! He isn't wearing pants!

Frank West: His Mega Man costume. Yeah, Capcom is fucking with us.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Alternate Costume Final Follow Up (For Now)

So today brought us the final two color palettes for Rocket Raccoon and Frank West. How do they look? They're alright.

Rocket Raccoon: He has a couple of blue costumes, which are decent, one based on his time working in an office, one from his first appearance in The Incredible Hulk, though not his cover appearance and a camouflage outfit from an upcoming comic. I'm upset he didn't get a green outfit with Grey fur like he did in his own miniseries, so I guess that now has a chance to be DLC. So it's now between that and him with a bubble helmet that he sometimes wears. I'm honestly torn between the two.

Frank West: Frank, like Phoenix Wright, has assistants, namely the zombies, that also receive a color change. First is a wine colored Jacket, which just reminds me that he had a wine colored outfit as DLC from the first Dead Rising. At least I think he did. Anyway, this was the one people thought was from TvC. Next is a White suit with a red shirt that was in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Also, it makes him look like Tony Montana. Next up is a brown suit that looks kind of like leather, but it's supposed to be like The Godfather, mafia and the like. I personally think it looks ugly. And now we get an actual reference to another Capcom character, Chuck Greene, which probably pisses off Chuck Greene fans, but screw them, we already have Frank West. Finally is Frank with a Dalmatian or Snow Leopard print Jacket, a pink shirt and white pants, to make him look silly. It's not Frank in drag, but it'll do. Not a lot of references to any of Frank's other potential costumes, especially since he got some new costumes as DLC in the new Dead Rising game. So the choices for DLC for him are pretty limitless.

UMvC3 Alternate Costumes Follow Up

Well it's nine days until release and three days until the final 2 costume sets are revealed, so I think it would be a good idea to take a look back at my last post and see what I got right and what I got woefully wrong. Also, I might add suggestions for DLC costumes

Wolverine: Both of Wolverines new costumes had been revealed when I wrote that last article, so I'm just gonig to add that they should make his Days of Future Past costume his DLC costume to go with the stage and one of Sentinels new colors. More on that in a bit.

Ryu: Predicted both of his new costumes, so off to a good start.

Morrigan: Turns out what we thought has a Lilith costume in MvC3 was just an original color. Now we have a real Lilith color. Also I was right that she'd have another one of her old Alternate Colors.

Hulk: See Wolverine. As for DLC, I'll stick with what I suggested last time, though I'm sure he has plenty of other great costumes, like Mr. Fix-It. Also, did not expect Captain Universe.

Chirs Redfield: A costume based off something he wore in a trailer I never watched and Chuck Greene. I told you I was unfamiliar with Resident Evil. Also, I have trouble believing that those other two costumes are supposed to be Cody and his Safari costume.

Deadpool: Okay, I wrote this before it was revealed that certain costumes would be removed after two of their costumes were revealed(see Hulk and his Captain Universe color replacing his MvC2 color) so for a while, I thought Deadpool was going to get his Orange Frightful Four costume to go with Taskmaster. But he was one of the few who this DIDN'T happen with. So I doubt it will be his DLC costume, but damn would that not be crazy if it was. As for a new suggestion? Something that shows his skin? Dead Man Wade from AoA, maybe his Marvel Girl Costume. Oh, and his new costumes are cool.

Dante: Didn't mention him last time, probably because his costumes had already been revealed. But seriously, Orange Frightful Four costume? The Hell? It's like they're mocking me. You'll see in a moment.

Captain America: Again, didn't mention him because I thought I'd seen all his new costumes. I was wrong. They removed not one but two old colors, his MvC2 teal color and my favorite The Red Guardian color. and for what? The Simpsons Yellow faced AEMH space suit, Bucky Cap, Age of X and Classic Cap. Also Punisher Cap has a new shield with no star. I seriously think the Space Suit colors are poorly done.

Felicia: I was right and wrong. One for a past alt and one for Mary Jane and other Marvel Red Heads. Wrong Spider-Man Romantic interest.

Dr. Doom: Hood Color is cool, gonna miss the second 2099 color, the picture for Death Mask looks orange, which pissed me off, but it's red, so I guess it's cool.

Chun Li: Shadow Lady. This is awesome. Oh and a puzzle fighter color to go with numerous new pink colors. Yay.

Super Skrull: The first two skrull uniforms and the Hank Pym Skrull. I'll miss Red Super Skrull, but I'm more upset at the lack of my suggestions appearing. But they fixed Ultimate Super Skrulls chest, so that's cool. Just wish they'd done the same for Generic Skrull #1's gloves.

Trish: Another Orange costume with no reference point other than Dante has one. I have since come up with a color that could have been used instead: Lucia, the female character from DMC2. Oh, and hooray for Dante and Vergil colors for everyone. Also Rainbow Mika color. That's what that was. And another pink costume.

Thor: Did you know that originally Thor was going to have a Red and gold color scheme that was reminiscent of Iron Man? This actually made me think that all three of Marvels Big Three (Cap, Iron Man and Thor) would have colors reminiscent of each others. Instead we got three Space suit colors, one of which is for Hawkeye, and two of which give the characters jaundice. Unfortunately, the character it would look best (Iron Man) on didn't get it. But Thor's version looks fine. All his colors do. Another character to lose two colors though.

Amaterasu: Awesome new colors, not much to say. I think there was a Black version with blue or yellow stripes, but that might have been fan art, so I doubt it'll be DLC.

Dormmamu: Not much to say here. A bit upset that I'm gonna have to pay to get his old color back.

Viewtiful Joe: I'm just gonna say I don't understand why his beards match his costumes. I know he has red hair and his costume is red, but there is no reason he can't have a blonde beard for his Sylvia costume, for example. Silly mistake that they should have fixed this time around.

X-23: Well, they didn't call it an X-Force costume, and the colors aren't right for it to be an X-Force costume, but I'm still gonna say that I called this one. As for the Kirika costume? Never heard of her, I think. Nice costume, I guess.

Tron Bonne: I've got nothing to add here. Still know idea what here DLC costume will be.

Spider-Man: TOO MUCH BLACK! They replaced his stealth suit with another Big Show costume, the sonic disruptor and brought in his new Spider-Armor. I'm surprised he didn't get some other costume. There's one from the same universe as Death Wish and Death Mask called The Amazing Spider, maybe a Fantastic Four costume. Anything but more black.

Albert Wesker: I've got even less to say here.

Magneto: I think his House of M costume might be neat. Maybe his look from X-Men Evolution, where you couldn't see his face. Oh, and it was the New Mutants that he led, not the X-Men, when he didn't wear his helmet.

Nathan "Rad" Spencer: Still waiting on the DLC costume, which has to be his Re-Armed look. Bling and P.N.O.3 costumes. Meh, not gonna get me to play as him.

M.O.D.O.K.: MODOT and a What If comic. Okay. I also found out about Baby MODOK from Nextwave. I hate being wrong, but these costume are good.

Sir Arthur: Two new original colors, one of them pink. I actually found out that there were new Ghost and Goblins games on touch phones with Percival and Lancelot as playable characters. I actually thought their armor would be costumes, but nope. Old Man Arthur and Pink Arthur. Though this does open more options for DLC costumes. Also there's some sort of Cursed Samurai armor from the last GnG game. So yeah, lot's of options, none of which were chosen.

She-Hulk: They split here old Lyra costume into two costumes, a Fantastic Four costume and a solo Lyra. Also Grey She-Hulk. That was a thing and Howard the Duck was there to see it. So that still leaves Savage She-Hulk's first cover appearance a shot.

Zero: Removed Blue X costume for Hyper Armor X. Hints at bringing actual X or just trolling? No one will ever know. Also one of my ideas for a DLC costume has become a color, black suit didn't make it, probably because of the Bass color, and I was right about Vile. I was also going to guess a Double inspired color. No such luck. So this leaves us with DLC, like my original suggestion of his Round Shoulder Pads look, though some people are worried that he might get an X costume as DLC.

Shuma Gorath: I guess I was right. Here's hoping for Shuma with a Bow Tie for DLC. Not like he has many options.

Jill Valentine: So it was Saki, another P.N.O.3 color, or the first I guess, and a camouflage costume to form a team that wasn't complete yet, with another P.N.O.3 color and another Pink which actually looks kind of like something Ivy from Soul Calibur would wear, if it was more revealing.

Storm and Crimson Viper : Nothing to say here. All their costumes were revealed last time, with only Vipers white and blue one causing any head scratching. I'm just saying it's Abel, but the presence of black instead of Blonde hair causes me to question that decision.

Taskmaster and Haggar: Again, just look back at my last post for my DLC suggestions. Also, it turns out that Haggar was going to wear a dress shirt with suspenders in the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars. It was remembered with Capcom Fighting Jam, which brought over an original character from All-Starts, Ingrid. She would later appear in a PSP re-release of Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Street Fighter is weird sometimes.

Sentinel: Right about Nimrod, wrong about Bastion. Not sure how they would have implemented that anyway. Glad to see that one Sentinel type that got used in the Tri-Sentinel was chosen though.

Hsien-Ko: Uh, yeah, Mr. Vampire, Puzzle Fighter and an original color. Yep. Though someone says the green one is actually from Darkstalkers 3 or Darkstalkers Chronicle, so what do I know?.

That about does it. Only Frank West and Rocket Raccoon's costumes left to be revealed. Frank lost his Real Mega Buster move, so that could be a DLC costume, he'll wear at least one of his Tatsunoko vs Capcom colors, the purple one, Rocket has a red outfit and a light blue one with grey fur. I did find that some of the colors actually could have real explanations other than the ones given, mostly Nemesis, who has one for Hypnos(blue) and some creature called Ivan(white). Only ones I hadn't seen any yet last time that I have now are
Nova: Mostly good, but the Kid Nova ones are kind of boring. In fact, Quasar look great, in spite of the fact that Nova as a fighter completely bores me.

and

Phoenix Wright: They paired the wrong Maya's with the wrong Phoenix's. Mia should go with Godot and Kay Faraday with Edgeworth. I haven't even played that one and I know that. Upset over no Furio Tigre with Viola Cadaverini. Speaking of which, can someone help me find a picture of those two dressed up as Phoenix and Maya? I know it's out there, I saw it. The Dick Gumshoe outfit looks a bit like Winston Payne to me, Nice color combination for Larry Buttz, and the Sissel color is just fantastic. And of course Missile looks amazing, even though they didn't have to change him. Now I have to come up with a costume for him for the DLC. Nick can still be Hobo Nick, Mia can wear Trucy Wright's outfit, though they might make Nick wear Apollo's outfit in that case.

UMvC3 DLC costume Ideas and predictions

Currently Marvel and Capcom have revealed 24 character's costumes and 18 DLC costumes. I'd like to try my hand at guessing what future costumes may be, be they alternate colors or DLC. This is going to be pretty basic, just a list and possible indication of whether or not it's DLC.

Wolverine: DLC, probably him in civilian clothes, possibly as Patch, his alter ego for when he's a bartender in Madripoor.

Ryu: Ken's Gi and blonde hair, Possibly his Evil Ryu costume, or if they wanted to be really crazy, Dan Hibiki's clothes. But we'll probably just end up with more of his old alternate colors. But I would have guessed that for Amaterasu and the canine warriors, and that proved wrong, so who knows, maybe they'll do something surprising.

Morrigan: Not familiar with her or anyone like her, so possibly just more past alternate colors as well. Maybe something from Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Hulk: DLC, Gladiator Hulk. It's the last notable costume he's worn. Or maybe he'll wear his new Fear Itself outfit.

Chris Redfield: Again, unfamiliar with him. I'm sure they have alternate costumes for him to wear from past games.

Deadpool: DLC, I honestly got nothing. Maybe his his Captain America costume.

Felicia: DLC, her Nun Habit. As with previous fighting game characters, her past alts will probably be recycled. That, or she might wear fur inspired by The Black Cat or other Dark Stalker characters.

Chun Li: See above comments about fighting game characters.

Super Skrull: A Paibok inspired color and a Fantastic Four uniform. Or maybe a Future Foundation uniform to go with Spidey and Dr. Doom.

Trish: A Lady color? I'm really unfamiliar with most Capcom characters. I only know lady because my friend introduced me to the Devil May Cry anime. Maybe a Jester color scheme.

Amaterasu: DLC, Either a Shiranui costume or her Realistic look that you could unlock after beating the game.

Dormammu: DLC, his Classic costume, since they removed this color.

Viewtiful Joe: DLC, not a lot of options. Maybe Average Joe or fully adopting one of the Jet Black costumes.

X-23: Possibly a color inspired by a costume she wore when teaming up with Spider-Man and an X-Force costume.

Tron Bonne: DLC, Probably just another palette swap like Iron Man, this time the "Heroic-Look" for her Gustaff, which is just the Megaman Volnutt color scheme. If they wanted to go crazy, I'd say go with a Wily Machine look or maybe Devilot from Cyberbots.

Spider-Man: DLC, his original Spider-Armor, since it's been in past games and he already has the other two.

Magneto: His helmet-less look from when he led the X-Men

M.O.D.O.K.: Maybe the Hulk Modok from Marvel Adventures and maybe an Arnim Zola color scheme. Maybe a Ms. Modok outfit to go with his MODAM one. I really don't know about his costumes.

Sir Arthur: DLC, a look inspired by Maximo. For standard colors, one ispired by the Arthur of The Knights of the Round game. And I'm sure they can scrounge up another armor color from one of his games. Either that or a Swordsman color to go with Taskmaster's Black Knight

She-Hulk, DLC, Her Savage She-Hulk outfit from her first issues cover. Either that or her in dress clothes, something for court. In that case they can give her a white outfit inspired by the cover.

Bionic Commando: DLC, his Original look. I know you can wear it in the 2009 game, I saw the code in Re-Armed. as for standard costumes, I don't know, maybe a Groeder color and a Megaman Bad Cover art color.

Shuma Gorath: DLC Him wearing a bow tie. Alt colors can just be past colors he's had.

Zero: DLC, his original Round shoulders from the first Megaman X game. That or his look from Megaman Zero. As for colors, his Black suit and a Vile inspired outfit.

Phoenix: DLC: Marvel Girl costume? Rachel Summers outfit? Goblin Queen? Black Queen? The Actual Jim Lee designed outfit? I have no idea, since she still needs some indication or costume change for when she goes Dark Phoenix.

Jill: DLC, either her S.T.A.R.S. or B.S.A.A. uniforms. As for Alt colors, I don't even knwoe the inspirations to the ones she already has.

Taskamster: DLC, His UDON costume, since they removed the color for it.

Mike Haggar: His Saturday Night Slam Master costume. That or one of the Final Fight sequels outfits. Failing that, Dress Shirt and Tie.

Sentinel: Nimrod and Bastion Colors.

Hsien Ko: Just go back and look at what I said about fighting game characters before. I can't even think of a DLC costume for her. Maybe make her human?

Ghost Rider: DLC, Maybe Ghost Rider 2099. Or maybe one of the Ghost Riders from Around the World.

Firebrand: DLC, His armored look from Ghouls n' Ghosts. That or Red Arremer Joker or his look from the cover of Gargoyle's Quest.

Hakweye: DLC, his Modern costume, his Goliath costume or, for irony's sake, as Bullseye.

Dr. Strange: DLC, One of the alternate costumes he had in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Nemesis: DLC, Uhhhh, I got nothing. Seriously. The closest I can come up with is Zombie Giant Man. I know it's stretching. Do you have any ideas, cause I don't.

Iron Fist: DLC, His Modern look. Easy.

Vergil: DLC, I got nothing here either. It should probably be a parallel to Dante's own though.

The Following characters have had no costumes revealed, so I'm doing the bare minimum here.
Rocket Raccoon: A Green Outfit with Grey fur. For DLC his Bubble helmet from the cover of the Hulk comic he premiered in.

Phoenix Wright: Miles Edgeworth and Furio Tigre colors. When your whole role is to look like the main character, but be a different color, you are destined to be an alt for him. Maybe he'll have some other colors based on other lawyers he knows. DLC, Hobo Wright. Simple as that. That's not a prediction, that's a fact.

Nova: Colors based on other Marvel Space heroes. The Original Captain Marvel costume, Silver Surfer, For DLC, his Original outfit, not his new pointier look.

Frank West: See, here we have a problem. He has a lot of costume options, just all of them are DLC possibilities. I know he has at least a few color options from the Dead Rising costume DLC, like his all white outfit and some of his unlockable outfits, like his Convict outfit. As for DLC, if he doesn't have the Real Megabuster move from TvC, then obviously the Megaman costume. If not, I suggest Chuck Greene's outfit or his Willamette Mall employee uniform. Maybe just him in a dress shirt like I've seen him where. Or put him in one of the most ridiculous outfits he can wear, like the Ratman pajamas or him in his or Sir Arthur's underwear. Just so many options.

CALLED IT!

And by it I of course mean Hawkeye showing up. I now give up all my humility when proved wrong with the initial release based entirely on my prediction of Hawkeye. Other characters I predicted would show up: Frank West, Firebrand, Strider Hiryu. Other Characters that are going to be in it: Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, Rocket Raccoon, Dr. Strange, and Nova for Marvel. Which Nova I don't know, but it's probably going to be the Human Torch's Girl friend. For Capcom: Phoenix Wright, Nemesis and Vergil of DMC. Whether or not there will be even more DLC with characters like Doctor Octopus, M. Bison/Vega, Megaman X, or Cyclops has yet to be revealed. But you just know that people will be clamoring for it. Now if only they transfer over your old DLC, I will be a happy gamer. And of course keep coming out with more costumes.

EDIT: Turns out that it is the Nova Corps version of Nova, not the Sentry of Galactus that I predicted. Super Smash Brothers 4 has been confirmed for it and the 3DS. Crazy Character speculation: GO!

First off: The original Twelve and the Melee survivors will surely be in it. As for Brawl survivors, I'm guessing Pit, Lucas, King Dedede, Pokemon Trainer, R.O.B., Diddy Kong, basically everyone will return. The ones I have some doubt of returning are Ike, Lucario, Wolf, Snake and Sonic. The reason for this is because SSB has a history of removing characters, though Ike has the best chance of survival because of how different he is from Marth.
The alternative is that everyone comes back, even the the castoffs from Melee. I think we can all agree that Mewtwo's removal may have been unnecessary. As for new characters, I'm guessing Zoroark or some other Fifth generation pokemon. The Link with probably be based on Skyward Sword's version with a Toon Link from whatever the next thing he appears in will be, or more likely Spirit Tracks. Mario will get his Spinning move reset to his down B move. Assist Trophies will return, with more characters, obviously. This is harder than I thought.

The day has finally come, and by that I mean Sunday

Yes, due to the fact that I had pre-ordered Marvel vs Capcom 3 I got it a couple days in advance, and already there's news of DLC down the line. You know, besides Jill and Shuma-Gorath. Six new costumes for 500 points? Sign me up. And since I pre-ordered it, I got the free comic with art from both the game itself, promotional art and some fan art. As for the comic itself? Well it's only purpose is to give the pretense that the game has any sort of story to it.

Somehow Albert Wesker of Resident Evil got in touch with Doctor Doom and they hatched the evil plan of fusing both of their worlds together, and then conquering them. Doom gathers together some villains from his world, namely Magneto, M.O.D.O.K., The Super Skrull and Taskmaster. Now I should mention that something about this bugs me: Why would these people help Doom? Modok I can understand, since AIM and Doom have worked together in the past(I assume), and Taskmaster is a Mercenary, though World Conquest doesn't seem like his M.O. Meanwhile you have Magneto, who I just never thought liked Doom, they just don't come off as having each others best interests in mind. And that brings us to K'lrt, the Super Skrull. He's an alien, with his own Empire to think of. Why is he paling around with Earthlings? Any way, they need a power source to run the world squishing machine, so Skrull suggest using Galactus' ship. Wesker likes this idea and goes about recruiting... no one. Because Capcom games take place in separate universes, the only other "Bad Guy" he can get is Akuma, who really is only interested in fighting. At least I assume he gets him, since we never see him in the comic.

Flash forward to our heroes beating the snot out of each other, as is tradition is crossovers, when suddenly Galactus shows up. And that's where it ends. The comic has no bearing on the story itself, other than having Dr. Doom, Wesker and Galactus as the Final Boss. He summons Cosmic (read Chrome) versions of either Wesker or Akuma and Doom and Dormmamu, a being who probably outclasses even Galactus. By the way, Galactus is a bitch to fight when compared to Yami, the final boss of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, though he's a lot easier than Abyss. A time limit, a dual boss fight against two Cosmic Character and attacks that drain the health bar you can't see behind Galactus' hugeness faster than a Frat boy drains a keg. Which you can hardly block, i should mention. 38 endings, which means 38 times fighting him, each time with another character having to be put on the bench on the chance that I beat the game with them again.

Aside from Arcade mode, there's the Online tournament scene. I do alright, not great or anything. I managed to beat a guy who beat another guy with eleven wins, so that means I won thirteen times, right? The ranked fights were down today, so I checked out the lobbies, where I accomplished that previous win, snatching it from the jaws of defeat while in my underpants (well my character was in his underpants anyway) and found out that everyone else couldn't get on either. All in all, a very enjoyable experience, though I'm going to have to bone up before Megacon, find out what works for me. If you want to hit me up, my gamertag is EctoBiologist42.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster is Locked, Stocked and somehow barreled.

Okay, I probably stretched for that last part of the title, but my point still stands. You will have to face off against a dual fight against a combination of either Dr. Doom, Albert Wesker, Akuma, or Dormmamu, boosted by the powers of Galactus to Herald status, giving them a nice chrome finish.

With two weeks left until release, here's how the roster looks:

On the Marvel Side we have:
* Captain America
* Iron Man
* Spider-Man
* Thor
* Wolverine
* X-23
* Storm
* Jean Grey
* Hulk
* She-Hulk
* Deadpool
* Dr. Doom
* Magneto
* Super Skrull
* Taskmaster
* Sentinel
* M.O.D.O.K.
* Dormmamu
* Shuma Gorath
With Galactus as the Final Boss

On the Capcom side we have:
* Ryu
* Chun Li
* Akuma
* Crimson Viper
* Mike Haggar
* Morrigan
* Felicia
* Hsei Ko
* Sir Arthur
* Zero
* Tron Bonne
* Dante
* Trish
* Nathan Spencer, The Bionic Commando
* Chris Redfield
* Albert Wesker
* Jill Valentine
* Viewtiful Joe
* Amaterasu

Now all that's left is to wait to see wait comes out as DLC. The most likely predictions are Frank West, more costumes, and at least two characters who have never been playable in a MvC game. Frank cover the Capcom side of that equation, but who can tell will be in the Marvel side?

And there goes what little faith I had in that stupid grid

With this new announcement what ever faith I had in my little chart from way back when has been shattered. Sentinel and Hsien Ko are the two newest additions to Marvel vs Capcom 3's roster of fighters. Add to that the confirmation that Frank West and the original Mega Man won't be in it (at least at launch)completely and totally disproves my previous assumptions. I hear by renounce any and all faith that the characters from that list will be in MvC3 (from the get go.) So, I suppose I should at least give part of the story, huh? Well Frank is mostly complete, but was cut at a late stage in development, Mega Man was deemed "too hard to adapt for a fighting game", despite the fact that he's been in at least the first two. Something about him having "too many possible weapons" and being "difficult to adapt for MvC3." I'm paraphrasing here. As for the announcement of Sentinel and Hsien Ko? Well, color me surprised. I mean, it's not like I'm upset that they're going to be in, it's just that they were seriously at the bottom of my list of possibilities. Well, at least we can now predict 90% of the teams you're going to face online. Hello Storm/Magneto/Sentinel spam fest. But hey, maybe this might help get us a new Dark Stalkers game? I am now no longer using it as concrete fact, but instead as a sort of wish list of characters I'd like to see in the future, perhaps. But on to the characters. First off, we have Akuma, evil brother of Ryu and Ken's master Gouken. At first I thought it was odd that they'd include him, due to his similarity to Ryu, but watching him in action made me realize they were different enough to co-exist alongside one another. Not sure what this means for M. Bison though. He would have been perfect for Doom and Wesker's paln, but I suppose Akuma works as well. But the important part of the video is Taskmaster. I don't actually know that much about him, but he seems to be on the same par of seriousness as Deadpool, and that he's voiced by Steve Blum, my all time favorite voice actor. Judging from the video, he'll use other characters moves, such as Captain America's Shield, Black Knights Sword, and Spidey's swing. Oddly enough, he has a bow, but as far as I can tell, no one who's been announced so far uses a bow. Gee, I wonder what this could mean?

OHAI, HAWKEYE.

Phoenix To Join MvC3. In Other news: obscure blogger posts retraction

Okay, so Jean Grey is now joining the fight in Marvel vs Capcom 3, thus rendering the roster I've been using false. I will go so far as to say that the Marvel side is now more or less debunked, but still hold out hope that most of the Capcom side remains true. I won't hold my breath for Red Arremer now, though. I saw Hagger, I know he'll be announced, as will Mega Man.

This will of course be Jean Grey's first appearance in the MvC franchise, and she will be bringing along both of her split personalities. It seems that you can heal herself with one of her super moves, and will turn into the more violent, and presumably stronger, Dark Phoenix personality when her health runs out. Healing seems to be limited to the same you would get for tagging out, only a lot quicker. It is seems that you need to have a full special gauge to perform the transition to Dark Phoenix, who's health gradually drains fairly quickly. Her counterpart from the Capcom has yet to be revealed, though we can probably bet on it being within the next week. As for who will will out the rest of the Marvel side, I can't say for now, all things considered. I'll still hold out hope for Ms. Marvel and perhaps Howard the Duck, but I am now less willing to bet money on this. Granted, I did once give that roster a mulligan for the Marvel side, one to counteract Strider being deconfirmed, so maybe this is it, and we'll find out who she replaced, my bet being Spider-Woman.
-edit- Alright, We've got our Capcom counterpart in the form of The Mayor of Metro City (he's coming to take your life) Mike Haggar.

He obviously plays like Zangief of Street Fighter fame, which is only natural considering their relation. Mike trained Zangief's friend Aleksy Zalazof in Saturday Night Slam Masters. They've also traded moves back and forth through out the years,eventually lending some moves to Frank West of Dead Rising fame. What this means for Zangief's chances of getting in to MvC3, I can't say. At best they're not good. As for Frank West, he's still got a chance though. In conclusion, I will leave you with this.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lemurconspiracy.blogspot.com/2011/01/phoenix-to-join-mvc3-in-other-news.html' title='Phoenix To Join MvC3. There's a pretty good reason for that, and it is this: I do not actively look for new webcomics and am incredibly lazy. I realize that in the past I made promises to add more webcomics to make up for ones I forgot, or made personal notes to edit past ones so that every one had at least three entries. I am not doing that anymore. Big surprise. Any way, on with the show.

Mushroom Go: This is what you get when you make a manga out of Super Mario Brothers and only use that as a sort of framing device. It's a lot better than I thought it would be. It offers very reasonable explanations for a lot of things, particularly Power Ups and the mysterious Shy Guys. So far they've only done the equivalent of one and a half arcs. Really small arcs. In fact, there are only 44 pages up right now, at the time of this posting. I suppose I should go into some detail on the subject. Go is found in the middle of the desert. Go is a toad, in the sense that he's one of those guys who wears a mushroom hat. He has amnesia. WAIT! DON'T LEAVE NOW! So he's rescued by a crew of sand pirates on a magic boat known as The Chainless. The Crew is composed of McCoy, a Raven from Yoshi Islnad, and second in command, Palma, a Pianta from Super Mario Sunshine, Guy, a Shy Guy, and Captain Martello, a koopa. After the requisite hazing episode, they're off on there first, and so far current adventure, raiding an abandoned weapons lab. In only 44 pages, they've managed to get me very invested, as well as throw in a lot of references.
Three Panel Soul: Really just this Kitschy webcomic that I like. Really nothing else to say about the matter.

New Marvel vs Capcom announcement

Alright, so last post I was predicting new characters, or at least characters that would be in MvC3:FTW. And I was right, at least, about Storm coming back. I feel I should explain why I predicted Howard the Duck would be in it.

As you can see, this is a possible character select screen, or at least roster list, of characters that will be in MvC3. And in the top right corner, we have Howard the Duck. Now, I have no idea when this image surfaced, but obviously it was before Strider was deconfirmed. But the rest of the list still seems very solid. Granted it doesn't take much imagination to jump to he conclusion that Storm would return, but if you look carefully, you'll see that C.Viper is at the mirror spot of her. And who was just announced today along side Storm? Crimson Viper! Also on the list are Shuma Gorath, She-Hulk, Zero, and Haggar. Yes, I do know Haggar hasn't been confirmed, but he hasn't not been confirmed either. And you saw that picture in my last post. What person would go out of there way to take a Halloween party photo from Capcom HQ and put a MvC3 style version of Mayor of Metro City, Mike Haggar in there? Point is, they all were confirmed later on.
The only problem is that Capcom said there would only be forty characters, and this image has 21. Maybe they meant forty on the launch date, with two being DLC for down the line. Also, this image lacks some of the characters I predicted, namely Zangief, Dan Hibiki, Cyclops and Blackheart. Now, I can understand Cyclops, Blackheart, and even Dan not being there, but to deny the world a showdown between the Red Cyclone and the World's Most Bad Ass Mayor is just criminal. Also, obviously, this predicts several characters that I did not. Thanos, Ms. Marvel, and Spider-Woman for the Marvel side, and Red Arremer, Frank West, and the previously mentioned Viper and Strider. Obviously Strider has been replaced with Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil series, sporting her look (and loyalty?), from RE5. I will admit that in the past, I hoped for Frank West to show up in this, like he did for he American Release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and according to this, he will. This makes sense, since Zero and Viewtiful Joe also premiered in TvC as well. Red Arremer of course is from the Ghosts and Goblins series, as is Sir Arthur, my personal favorite addition. This should be interesting, since Red Arremer had his own series of games, Gargoyles Quest, but in those he was known as Firebrand and exhibited the ability to change forms, at least in the last one, Demon's Crest. He also appears in the Backgrounds of several stages, just Like Tron Bonne does in her own. Only time will tell if he gets an upgrade from Cameo to fighter.
Now on the Marvel side, we have the return of Thanos, a former Boss character from Marvel Super Heroes demoted to fighter for MvC2. This one leaves me at least a little bothered. We already have Dormmamu, do we really need someone of this caliber in here as well. Especially since the plot seems to say that Doom and Wesker have teamed up to do something evil, and I doubt they could recruit Thanos. Whatever, never mind, let's look at the other two additions. Ms. Marvel seems like a good idea, since she should play like Rogue, since the Latter stole her powers. She's also apparently pretty important nowadays, being the leader of the Avengers, last time I checked. Spider-Woman has also been in the spotlight recently, having been replaced by the Skrull Queen during Secret Invasion. Wouldn't that make for some interesting interactions between her and Super Skrull. I know that she can fly, and has some sort of laser blast, so she might be able to work. And she would bring them up to five female characters on the Marvel side. That's just as many as were in MvC2, and with fewer stupid ones, like Spiral or Marrow. Of course, I have no idea if this picture is real or not, and it might just be a very good creation with some lucky guesses, but I do hope that it's real, and that more characters will be added in down the line.

Hipsters are capable of time travel

I posit that Hipsters are capable of Time Travel. Here is my logic: Dr. Who is British. The Doctor looks like a hipster, always. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is also British, and introduced the idea that the confusion and chaos in a bistro can be used to propel a starcraft. Douglas Adams wrote the Hitchhikers Guide, but also some episodes of Dr. Who. The Doctor exists both in the past, present, and future. Hipsters are the convergence point of past, present, and future fashion. Ipso facto, Hipsters are capable of time travel, if they so wish. It would also explain why the Tardis is a Police Box. And that number is...10. So, with the 28 available out of the gate, with Shuma Gorath and Jill Valentine already confirmed as Downloadable Content/ Pre-order bonuses for collectors edition (btw already pre-ordered my copy) we now have a total of 40 characters destined to be in MvC3:FTW. All that's left now is to guess at this remaining ten. This of course leaves us with five for each side. Let's take some educated guesses, shall we?

Capcom: Megaman: This one is just common sense, since he's been in the last two. Besides, he's the poster boy for Capcom, and there would be blood in the streets if he didn't show up, and Tron Bonne did.

Zangief: He's one of three Capcom characters to appear in all previous installments. Yeah, pretty safe bet he might show up.

Mike Haggar: I'm basing this solely on a single image supposedly taken at a CHalloween party at Capcom Headquarters. I don't know about you, but it looks legitimate to me. Besides, it's about time he showed up in one of these games and perform a double lariat and spinning piledriver on Zangief. Then again, this image may just be an alternate costume for the Russian Wrestler.

M.Bison: Because apparently the plot is Dr. Doom and Wesker are teaming up all the villains from their respective sides, and Wesker is pretty lonely right now. Unless Jill Valentine is still being controlled by Wesker and Nathan Spencer is being counted because of how hated his last game was, Capcom's only got one villain so far. Bison is a fan favorite, and he's been in most of the previous games, with one still having him cameo.

Dan Hibiki: Because, why not!? I happen to like the guy, and from the looks of things, there are no joke characters revealed so far, and you've got to have one in these things. And yes, I do realize that Deadpool is a humorous character, he's just not woefully mismatched against everyone else like Dan is. Even Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighters had him. And he'd fit right in with the semi-joking manner the game seems to have.

These are of course only the ones that I think are most likely. Any of the other Street Fighters or Roll could show up. Hell, it could even be someone who had never been in one of these games, like Nathan Spencer, Dante, or Sir Arthur. Unlikely though.

Marvel: Storm: Line M. Bison, she's been in all the previous games to some extent, and because I want to see more X-Men characters in this one. Also, I'm only counting Wolverine as an X-Man. Sorry X-23 and Deadpool.

Venom: Probably going to be the Mac Gargan version. Also like Bison, he's here to fill out the villain roster, though it's already heavy on the Marvel side, one more never hurt. Also, he was in the last two MvC games.

Cyclops: I just like the guy. So sue me. I know I've heard rumors he was disconfirmed, but fuck that. I want him to show up again. 'Nuff said.

Blackheart: I'm seriously just grabbing at straws here. He was in two of the past games, and Ghost Rider is making a cameo, so that's all I got. Besides, Dormammu is in it, and I'd like to pit Mephisto's son against him. Is he even still in the comics? Does Ghost Rider even have his own comic anymore?

Howard the Duck?: Yeah, I got nothing left. This is a joke, and not even in a joke character sense. I've really got nothing left. Juggernaut, maybe? I just don't want to list too many X-Men characters, but they make up like 90% of the past rosters. I don't even think I'm being hyperbolic in that statement.

Hell, they were the first to fight the Street Fighters. It's probably why we're only getting 40 characters, rather than more than 56, like MvC2. Granted that included such fan favorites as Marrow, Omega Red, Silver Samurai, and Spiral. I'm sorry, this just sort of devolved into a rant about unoriginality, or at least a lack of diversity. I just don't see myself using many of the characters from MvC2, unlike Tatsunoko vs Capcom, where I used all of the characters, for the most part. And why? Because those characters were all interesting to me. Luckily, MvC3 is doing just that for me. It's got a nice balance of new and old characters. I want to try All of the new Marvel characters! Even Modok! I think this time they went with a lot of fan favorites, rather than whatever they already had the codes for plus some filler in MvC2.

Well, here it is

The first official trailer for Green Lantern. I'd like to say I'm hyped, but I just have some problems with it. I plan on doing a second by second review of this thing, sort of in the spirit of Trailer Failure.
00:13 Okay, hardly ten seconds in to the trailer and we have my first problem with this trailer. The "love 'em and leave 'em" depiction of Hal. I'm not sure how he's characterized in comics today, but I'm sure this isn't it. But then again, I go by the Silver Age story, though I'm sure there were never many One Night Stands in Hal's stories. Moving on.
00:21 Gah. That delivery was so wooden from Carol. Okay, it's only one line, I'm sure it's not going to be this bad throughout.
00:29 Okay, is that Carol Ferris or not? Huh, guess not. Sorry about that before, minor character who I'm sure will have no significance to the plot.
00:48 Wait, was that The Power Ring!? I'm guessing it is. Sure can't be Abin Sur's space ship, since we see that at 00:51, and doesn't look green at all
00:57 Fuck yes! Abin fucking Sur! Looking good, much better than you did in Green Lantern: First Flight. You're alien enough to the eye, but not grotesque in any way.
1:16 Finally a good look at the ring. I'm liking it so far. Looks like the Alien Tech that it is.
1:28 Tomar-Re is also pretty darn acceptable. I guess I was wrong, this is looking pretty darn good, all things considered.
1:29 And we get our first look at Sinestro as well. Nice.
1:34 Who are you?
1:36 And Why are you holding the Lantern? Don't tell me you're Thomas Kalmaku. I know Thomas Kalmaku. He is a close personal friend of mine.

You, Sir, are no Thomas Kalmaku.
1:41 Wait, so you are Carol Ferris? Then why were you flying that plane earlier? So confused.
1:43 Oh neat, a slightly-larger-than-usual fist. Also you mentioned earlier that you could create anything you can imagine, or something along those lines? So I guess we won't have the "do anything you want" variety of Power Rings then? Fine.
1:45 Hey neat, it's Dr. Clayton Forrester! You gonna shoot Hal into space inside a Dog Bone shaped Rocket?
1:51 WHAT?! What do you mean you aren't fearless? Gah, stupid need for character development in movies nowadays. Back in 1959, you freely admitted to being fearless. That was the whole point of making you a Test Pilot. To show that you had balls of Steel! I'd expect this kind of talk from Kyle Rayner, but not you Hal. As a matter of fact, I'd expect the bed hopping and irresponsibility from him too. And age range as well, come to think of it. Movie, are you trying to combine the two of these characters in to one? If I find out Hal has a secret passion for drawing , I will be very upset. Granted, it would be very hard to have Kyle in at all, considering his origins as the Green Lantern rest firmly on Hal's fall from glory. Fine, have your Cake and eat it too. Just don't let me catch you doing this sort of thing again.
1:52 Gah! Giant Head! But seriously, he's our villain? Sorry, I haven't read the Giant Head part of Hector Hammond's life yet. Maybe it's just as threatening as his steal the Power Ring phase.
1:54 What are you shooting at?
2:07 Our first look at Hal, fully suited up. I liked your costume from the get go, so you've got no complaints from me. Also, a better look at the Battery/Lantern thing. But nothing the Entertainment tonight clip didn't have, for the most part. It was better video quality though, so I will give you that.
2:24-26 Way to give me the Lantern Oath blue balls, trailer.

But yeah, all in all, it looks good. Not nearly as good a trailer as some other Comic movies (Iron Man, The Dark Knight), and there are some problems with it that I pointed out, and I'm not sure if anyone other than Green Lantern fans even know who Hector Hammond is. Even I didn't know about him until I started to read the comics, though I guess GL doesn't have much of a stock of villain he can use. Let's just hope that a better trailer comes out at a later date.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 is starting to look pretty Rad

Now I may not be any good at Marvel vs Capcom 2, but I'm not very good at pretty much any fighting game, but in spite of this fact, I am totally psyched about the upcoming sequel Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Today I was made aware of four more characters, two from previous games in the series, two that are brand new. First off, we see the return of the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Magneto. Secondly, we have Sir Arthur, the lead character from the poster child of controller smashingly hard games, Ghosts n Goblins. Now this will be his debut as a playable character, just like Thor, who started out as assist characters from the original Marvel vs Capcom. On the other front, we have M.O.D.O.K.'s giant head floating in, but he's not the character that got me in the mood to write. No that honor belongs to Nathan Rad Spencer, the hero of the Bionic Commando series. Now I'm a bit ambivalent about this becuase, well... look at him

He's the 2009 'Grim and Gritty' re-imagined version, with the douchey white guy dreads and Rob Liefeld arm. I can only hope that the rumors of Downloadable Content will also cover costume packs, or maybe they'll have the Re-Armed version selectable from the start. Point is, they didn't need to use this version, and probably shouldn't have. But who knows, maybe he'll be so good, we'll all be willing to overlook his hair. And if that doesn't fail, at least we'll have a character who gets less respect than Dan Hibiki. Now, these four characters brings the total of confirmed characters up to twenty-six, with the new character count up to eleven. This means that we can expect at least four more characters to be announced, with either three or all of them to be returning characters. I'm holding out hope Frank West of Dead Rising follows Viewtiful Joe over from Tatsunoko vs Capcom. The other three will probably be Megaman, Storm and Venom. Though I may be wrong, and Frank West will be a no show, but hopefully we'll get Strider instead. It's not like he's doing anything right now. It's getting close to the wire on this, so a lot of characters from 2 will most likely get over looked, at least until the DLC comes around, if it ever does.

Army of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes

Alright, now for the main attraction. Due to licensing issues and what not with the movies, these comics basically ignore Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, keeping the story and characterization of Ash from Army of Darkness, as evidenced from the opening narration from Ash matching that of the third movie. Like the majority of the rest of the stories, Ashes 2 Ashes is told in four issues, with about one or two action sequences per issue.
The first issue picks up where the movie left off, with Ash taking care of a Deadite shopper. Soon after he discovers that she wasn't the only tag along fro, 1300 A.D., as the Wise Man has come to inform Ash that he has come back too early! (A nice little reference to the alternate ending to AoD) Ash has in fact come back just as his past self has left with Linda to go to the cabin in the woods. Ash sets forth to try and prevent the whole ordeal with the Necronomicon. After a quick witted solution to the broken bridge, Ash and The Wise Man come across a Red Neck being assaulted by a deadite jack rabbit. Before too long, he gets possesed as well, just like the entirety of the woodland critters. Issue one ends with a bang, before leading into Issue two: Ash vs Ash. The first issue is your standard recap and introduces us to the new art style, a very cartoony style in sharp contrast to the last comics photo realism. The wise man speaks in Ye Olde English through out, which I don't really mind. What I do mind is the constant call backs to dialougue from previous movies, specifically Army of Darkness.

Army of Darkness: The Comic Adaptation of the Movie

Well this should be a rather quick review. If you've seen the movie, there's not much incentive to read the comic. It does serve as a refresher course, and the artwork is certainly interesting. I would best describe it as photo realistic, with only the Deadites having any real change, appearing more monstrous. The story is pretty much just a streamlined version of the movie, with a few scenes removed or abridged, but with at least two added. It does seem to be take itself more seriously than the movie it was based on. Gone are the goofy one liners and jokes, replaced with scenes that are more violent than the movie's, which I don't really feel deserves the R rating it has, and a running commentary from Ash. The major continuity difference is the ending, which uses the alternate Rip Van Winkle ending. Unfortunately this of course renders it out of canon with the rest of the stories here, so the only real explanation I can think of why they included it was for completions sake. Though it is based on an early screenplay by Sam Raimi. So it really comes down to whether or not you feel like watching the movie again on if you should read this one. I say go for it, just to get a look at the artwork and to compare it with the movie.
While we're on the subject, quick question, if Bad Ash started on the right side, why doesn't he have the metal hand? Oh well, c'est la vie.

Evil Dead/ Army of Darknes Omnibus Vol 1 Review

Coming Soon! This one is really great, and really obscure. This is probably because of it's name. The series itself can be found on "Kiwis by Beat", Ryan Armand's personal website for his comics. The story itself begins with Mr. Phipps losing his job, wife, apartment, and worldly possessions. These early comics can be hard at times to read, just watching Our hero go through Jobian levels of loss. But this never breaks his can do spirit, and after what could be anything from months, he is eventually taken off the streets by the daughter of a Master Ramen chef and swears that he will become the best Ramen chef himself, after his boss himself, of course. What follows is basically an accelerated life story, going from youth, adulthood, all the way to middle age.
The comics themselves are presented in quite the unique way. Pages can have a few strips, up to a weeks worth of any other websites. This excuses the single day update schedule it has, but it keeps the audience wanting more. So even though there are only 77 pages, that's over 200 for any other comic, at least if you go by a multiple of three. The actual number of strips depends on the page, from anywhere between what could be called six comic strips to one big picture, though those are saved for more emotional conclusions or the introduction page. This is probably because it's a scan of a page with the comcis drawn on them, which helps you to see the division between comics.
Manly Guys doing Many things: Another video game based webcomic, this one focussed on an employment agency for what could best be described as out of work bad asses. So you've got guys like Kratos working for an electronics store, and Dante Aligheri working at a retirement center teaching needle point. The biggest draw would have to be the art, by coelasquid. Her art could be described as SERIOUS BUSINESS! There are only three original characters: Commander Badass, the guy trying to get these psychos acclimated back to a normal life, Jared Kowalski: The Worlds Worst Pokemon Trainer, who chose a magikarp as his starter and general intern at the agency, and the woman who walks by the temp agency every now and then, she doesn't have a name.
The comic is still pretty new, with only four months of comics, but it does have some extra comcis from coelasquid. And after you've read all of those, you can just go to her Devianty Art page and look at more of her stuff. Just remember, the punchline is always Machismo!

Ushio and Tora

I suppose I should make some constructive use of this series, so I guess I'll review it. Ushio and Tora is a ten episode OVA based on the manga series of the same name. It's your standard monster fighting series I suppose, with nothing terrifically fascinating about it. The most I can say about is that it's not bad, though not great either. The humor is good enough, the action scenes are easy to follow, and the voice actors did a great job. The word I could best use to describe it is formulaic. The basic plot is a kid, Ushio Aotsuki, is the descendant of a famous Demon slayer, who years ago pinned a foul beast to a rock with the Legendary beast spear, a weapon capable of destroying monsters, but at the price of the humans soul, which may lead to the wielder of the beast spear becoming a monster themselves. This translates to Ushio growing longer hair and fangs, but his flesh also grows thicker, preventing attacks that would normally tear right through a human from going all the way through. As luck would have it, Ushio just happens to live on top of the spot where the monster was trapped, and he winds up stumbling upon him while moving some of the offerings made to his family into storage.
This releases the demons aura, but not after a humorous scene where Ushio and the Demon, from here on referred to as Tora, exchange insults after Tora asks to be released so that him may kill again. Ushio of course refuses and rubs the spear even deeper into the wound. Any way, Ushio's schoolamtes, Asako and Mayuko come by and are assaulted by fish demons, so Ushio needs the spear, but that means releasing Tora. Bad news, right? Well after a breif fight between the two, they team up to destroy the giant monster that has appeared. Basically Tora then swears he's going to eat Ushio, so he sticks around the temple, waiting for the moment to strike, and Ushio is making him clean up the mess he sort of started.
I can't really go into detail about the other episodes, but six of them are two parters, with these episodes proving to be the most violent. I may go into more detail at a later date, but they can be summarized like this: Monster unleahed, Ushio and Tora fight, either by a misunderstanding, or because Tora really was trying to eat Ushio, They team up and either kill the monster or learn some moral.
It's a two disc DVD set, with five episodes on each disc, with a blooper reel and a three episode comedy special, though they're only ten minutes long each, so don't get excited. The episodes are basically one that introduces an Comedy Special character, a monster that cleans the bathroom, one where Tora takes care of a kitten, and a silent movie one where most of the characters from the series chase Tora. This last one is my personal favorite of the three, if only because I enjoy seeing all the characters Super Deformed.
I've never read the manga, so I'm not sure how great that is, but I'm sure it ends better than this. Not sure whether or not it's been translated, though I doubt it. 33 volumes though, so you just know it lasts a lot longer than this. If each book covers at least three stories per volumeThat still leaves upwards to thirty-one volumes. None of the episodes seem to last longer than a few chapters, if that. Maybe on at most for the first batch of episodes are only three chapters long, but I'm sure the two parters were longer. They also left out a few stories from the manga, so that's a bummer. I usually don't advocate using scans of manga, but I suppose since this isn't available in english, I can make an exception, but you really should track down the OVA to balance this out, at least a little.

Iron Man 2 Review Part two

Now that we've gotten the new characters out of the way, we have to deal with the returning cast. First off, we have Tony Stark, Iron Man himself. Since the last movie, he has gone about bringing forth world peace, most likely by taking care of terrorist cells, or some other jibber jabber. We never find out how exactly he "privatized world peace", we're just told he did and have to deal with it. His major problem in this film is keeping the Iron Man suit out of the military's hands as well as coming up with a solution to the palladium poisoning he's come down with since sticking that night light in his chest. This has lead to more reckless behavior on his part, though that really only amounts to being a dick to Senator Stern, driving in that race in Monaco, and operating the suit while intoxicated, which hardly seems as risky as fighting terrorists by himself. Maybe it was more "a danger to the rest of society" thing that had everyone else worried. Any way, Robert Downey JR. once again brings his A game to this performance. The only fault I can seem to find is that he might have been to big of a dick, but that's what's expected of him. So I suppose we should move on to his co-stars, Terrence Howard. I mean Don Cheadle!
James Rhodes in this movie gets much more screen time, as he should. The build up from the first part is satisfying, though the true War Machine armor is only used near the end, during the final battle. But I must say, he wears the Mark II well, but then again, it's only his face in what I'm sure is a whole lot of CGI. But out of the suit, he's still a terrific character, though again, little development. I really cannot emphasis how often characters in this movie are just left as basic skeleton characters.
As a matter of fact, the one who got the most proportional development to his screen time was Happy Hogan, Tony's chauffeur. Played by director Kevin Favreu, he goes from a cameo to a full blown character in this one. And he's probably one of the most sympathetic characters. Thogh you can't spell sympathetic without pathetic. I'm not sure what's happening with this character in the comics now, but I read the original comics he was the only other person to have piloted to Iron Man suit, though it's been a while since I've read them, so maybe I'm making him up to be a bigger character than he is. But in this? There isn't a scene where he isn't getting thrown around. It's just a little sad for me to see this guy go from married to Pepper (one of the few things I do know about current Happy) to what basically amounts to comic relief. I suppose I should talk about her, but I don't really have much to say about Pepper. She's the same character as before, only now she's dating Tony and is the new CEO of Stark industries. I don't know, maybe I'm just bad at noticing personalities in humans, but you probably notice a pattern developing when I talk about these people.
While we're on the topic of cameos being developed (too late) Samuel L. Jackson returns from the credits in the last movie as Colonel Nicholas Fury, director of SHIELD, and all around bad ass. People were glad to see him in the first movie, and they sure as hell were ecstatic to see him in this one. He serves as a general Deus ex Machina, giving Tony the necessary stuff to keep him from being dead and slap the stupid out of him, metaphorically speaking, of course. Again, just another character there to set up the big party in 2012. Take him or leave him, though I suggest taking him. I suppose that covers all the characters, though I'm sure I missed some gripe points. In short, maybe Hogan was a sort of self insert by the director, though I doubt this, and Black Widow and Fury only acted as Fan service, in as many senses of the word as possible. I guess that leaves me to discuss the plot, though I think that might be taboo for movie reviewers. I mean, it's not like I can discuss emotion or pacing or anything! I'm an amateur. I just know how to state facts as they are, and what my opinion on those facts are. But then again, what is a movie without characters, and since I've already covered all of them, I suppose I can call it a wrap. Do I have to put a score down now?

Iron Man 2 Review

Well, I suppose I promised myself that I'd do a review, so here it is. Now, I should mention that I saw this at the midnight showing, so, my recollection may not be up to par. So, without further ado, on with the show.
SPOILERS
I suppose I should start with the new characters. We are first introduced to Ivan Vanko, son of Anton Vanko, in a Siberian slum as they watch Tony Stark announcing the Stark Expo. Ivan then watches his father pass away while cursing the Stark family name. You see, the Arc reactor Tony came up with in the last one was actually a collaborative effort between his father and Anton, so Ivan was raised to believe that he and his father had been slighted, with Howard Stark taking all the credit for the work Anton contributed. This character did not get nearly enough screen time, in my opinion. They really wasted the whole "what could have been" character, they never really focused on that aspect. I suppose they might have done that because it's been over done in their opinion. But beside that, I don't think he had enough lines of dialogue. This might have something to do with his heavy Russian accent, which was so thick, even the other characters had trouble understanding him. We're told that he is a physicist, but the only evidence we have is, well, the arc reactor he builds in his house. And while this is certainly impressive, I just feel it hard to believe that this man who apparently was raised in Siberia got a good enough education to play Mad Scientist. I can accept playboy Tony Stark, because he grew up with wealth, so he did have this opportunity. But enough of Villain number one, now we have to deal with his benefactor and Rival to Tony, Justin Hammer.
Justin Hammer in the comics is apparently an old man, so it's a good thing they got Sam Rockwell for this role. This is the character that probably stole the most of Ivan's character development. And if it weren't for Rockwell's excellent performance and soothing voice, I don't think he would be as enjoyable a character. He was a well written character, and I'm sure other actors could have portrayed him well, but it was Rockwell who really did the job. He is, like Ivan, another example of what Tony could have been, if he had fewer scruples. I think they did a better job of that with him, rather than Ivan. His main perpose in the movie is to give Ivan the resources he needs to get revenge on Tony, as well as bringing forth War Machine. All I can say about him is that I hope to see more of him in future movies.
That leaves only one new character left, the Black Widow. She may be the character who was the least necessary. Since she's undercover most of the time, she gets next to no development and serves only as eye candy. Could they have axed her character all together and replaced the scene where she breaks into Hammer Industries with Nick Fury? Probably, though then we wouldn't have gotten the fake sexual tension between her and Tony. I don't mean to knock her looks, but I really couldn't tell her from some of the other Red headed women in this movie, besides Pepper Potts. Her only purpose was too give a report on Tony at the end of the movie, and that could easily have been achieved by having any other Shield field agent spy on him. And I suppose I can't help but mention this, but I'm sure more than one nerd was upset that she didn't have a Russian accent, or really any hint of being Russian, unless I missed something.
Well, this thing is starting to drag, I think I'll post my thoughts on the recurring characters, or maybe the plot later down the line.

Avenger's Speculation 3

Well, it's just one more day until the midnight premier of Iron Man 2. Now I know plenty of people have already seen it, some legitimately, some not so much. And they've all seen whatever Easter eggs there already are in Iron Man 2. But I haven't. I've been good, and kept my nose relatively clean. The only thing I do know is that Thor's hammer is in the end credits, and Olivia Munn is a lying Whore. We can all breath a sigh of relief knowing that she will not be portraying either The Wasp or The Scarlet Witch. But your not here to read about things that are fact. Your here for crazy speculations on what the future is for the Avengers series of movies. Well, here's what i think we can look forward to, or at least what I'd like to see.
Future Movies
We already have Nick Fury as a character, he's had a movie before, and we've got an IMDB page. It's a no brainer to expect a Nick Fury solo project, hopefully with a few old friends from SHIELD, such a Dum Dum Dugan, and maybe some Hydra action. Though the IMDB page talks about him as a soldier putting together a team of elite soldiers. Does this mean we're going to get a long awaited Howling Commandos flick? It's certainly possible, since according to Kevin Feige, Marvel's President, they will be appearing in the Captain America movie. The question is whether or not Marvel will be willing to do two World War Two movies.
Now I know I've dismissed any chance of Ant Man or The Wasp appearing in the Avengers as pure poppycock, but I suppose the possibility of the two of them being introduced in the Avengers and from there going on to appear in their own movie is a possiblity. We'll just have to wait and see. But if they did get there own movie, I wouldn't mind seeing him working on an artificial intelligence, possibly based on his own brainwaves.
Not sure how many other heroes there are, but if The Avengers film itself is a success, I'm sure we can expect a sequel. Like I've said before, the comics are not hurting for plots, or at least villains. But I suppose there is nothing I can do to know what the first one will have, so I guess I can just go crazy and start my crazy Speculation now.
Insane Speculations (Or the things I'd like to see in an Avengers movie)
Something that really disappointed me about the first movie in this series, Iron Man, was that Tony Stark's loyal butler was reduced to an AI program, so I was thinking, The Avengers need a base, Tony has been their host before, so why not have an Avengers Mansion with a built in copy of Jarvis displayed as a hologram. Now I'm sure they had a good reason for not having a human Jarvis, but I still would like to see him, rather than just hear him. And if they can't secure one of Tony's mansions, I suppose they can always just crash with Fury in his Helicarriers, something a few of my nerd brethren wouldn't mind, I'm sure. On a final note, there is but one thing I'd like to hear come out of Chris Evans mouth: "AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!"

Edit: Right, I should probably point you over to a person who does a better job at this than me, Bob Chipman aka Movie Bob. Here's his video about the Marvel Universe movies, you should totally go watch it, and then subscribe to his blog, and maybe mine, perhaps?
http://moviebob.blogspot.com/2010/04/escape-to-movies-avengers-assemble.html
If it's wonky to you, just go over to The Escapist website, coincidentally also linked on that page.

Avengers Speculation Part 2

Yesterday I covered who I feel could be members of the finished team, and those who are a long shot, and those that have a snowball's chance in hell. But what use is a team without bad guys to wallop on? If there's one thing Marvel is not hurting on, it's bad guys for there heroes to beat up. Here are the Villains I think are most likely to show up

Villains
First off, we have the villain that started this whole thing, Loki. Exiled by Odin and bested by Thor, Loki was looking for a menace big enough to get his revenge on his brother. He used his illusory powers to fool The Hulk into destroying a train track on a bridge, hoping that Thor would return to Asgard to make sure Loki was still imprisoned. Like I said yesterday about the Hulk himself, this might be good enough for a comic, but I'm sure that if he is to be involved in this movie, he'd have a better plan than that. And when it comes to Loki and big plans, there really is nothing bigger than one word: Ragnarok! If there was anything that could bring together the strongest heroes in the world, what better threat could there be than the Apocalypse? The only problem with this would be scale. Even the Ultimates only had to fight an invasion that was merely a grab for the attention of Odin from Loki. Granted it still was the greatest threat they had faced since the alien invasion, it just doesn't seem like a good enough motivation for a movie.
The point is, once you stop Armageddon, there really is nowhere to go but down. No, they'll probably have to deal with some other kind of invasion or threat. Like I said yesterday, Ultron would also make for a great villain, but you would need to first establish the character of Hank Pym, and the way it looks, we won't be seeing him until at least part two. But on the topic of established characters, what about The Leader and Abomination? Both of those characters were brought in during The Incredible Hulk, and they're both still alive, as opposed to Obadiah Stane, unless we're going by the rule of 'no body, no death.' But if he did survive, or if Whiplash does in Iron Man 2, I see no reason why a genius of the Leaders intellect would neglect to utilize them in his plans. From this perspective, we're starting to see the formation of a counter team to the Avengers, some kind of Masters of Evil, if you will.
But if you have the Masters of Evil, you probably have to have Baron Zemo. An original foe introduced in the pages of The Avengers #4 and 6, he was the reason Captain America was frozen in the first place. Whether or not he's used in the Captain America movie, or if his role will be given to the Red Skull is of course open to speculation, though I wouldn't put it past Hollywood. The point is, we'll may see some form of the Masters of Evil, whether it be headed by Baron Zemo I, II, the Leader or even Mandarin. But of course this is just one of many outcomes. As I said, there are plenty more villains out there, from Kang the Conqueror to Hydra, or even AIM. Though those last two are more organizations, rather than villains themselves, they would fit with the theme in Iron Man of villains being terrorists or weapon dealers. They certainly are extensive enough that they could be tied to all sorts of characters. Baron Strucker was a Nazi and the founder of Hydra, but he was also a leader of AIM, plus he has reduced aging and a healing factor. Would it be a stretch to think that he might fought Captain America? And the Red Skull is also a Member of Hydra, the cloned body of Captain America as of right now. The possibilities are seemingly endless with what they could do for this story. The problem is with the possibility that they could really screw things up. Ugh, this is looking boxy now. I think I'll do one more post later about any extra thing I can think of.

Avengers Speculation Part 1

With Iron Man 2 due out in little over a week, I feel that now is the perfect time to start speculation on possible plots for The Avengers. First, I think I should cover possible members of the team, then villains, and finally ancillary details.

Heroes: We've already got Iron Man, Captain America and Thor slated to be members, but what about the other founding members, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne? Right now, it does not look likely that they'll appear, at least as members proper. They may show up as S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists, but that is stretching it for me. The thing is, they're already slated to appear in another movie headed by Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim director/writer Edgar Wright, and I'm not even sure if it will take place in the same universe. Early talks of the movie were that it would be about the first two Ant-Men, Hank Pym and Scott Lang, though this may have changed since then. Point is, if they can't get Hank Pym, then that means the next hero is next to impossible. I'm of course speaking of the intangible android, The Vision. Based on the brain waves of Wonder Man, constructed by Ultron, Vision serves as the token "Emotionless" member. He shares similar powers to the Justice Leagues own Martian Manhunter, namely Intangibility, Flight, and Super Strength. From a story point, he would be great for a sequel, if Ant-Man and Wasp do show up in The Avengers. And if he shows up, he would go great with another token twosome: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Now we're walking in the world of fantasy, because there is no way this could possibly work from a Licensing point of view, let alone continuity. These are the the children of the X-Men's greatest enemy, Magneto. Fox is not going to let these two go, not without some sort of long drawn out fight. As for continuity, forget it, there's no way you can bring the two series together without more fuss than it's worth. In the long run, these two are never going to be in the Avengers movies. Back on the topic of founding members, who could forget the reason there was an Avengers in the first place: The Incredible Hulk. Tricked by the Norse god Loki into destroying some train tracks, the Hulks one human confidant, Rick Jones, radioed for assistance in proving the Hulks innocence. Now this may work for a twenty-two page comic from the 60's, nowadays were probably going to get something bigger. Hell, back then it was probably just a marketing ploy similar to the one behind the Justice League. No, I think that we're probably looking at at least an alien invasion. The Hulk is going to be used as a kind of secret weapon, they just need to get their hands on him , which is why Tony Stark contacted General Ross at the end of the Hulk movie. The only other members I could possibly believe would be in this are Hawkeye and War Machine, though I have serious doubts about the former and don't consider the latter an Avenger. All in all, four heroes will probably be enough to keep our attention, let's just hope they don't spread themselves too thin. That's all for today. Hopefully I'll have the energy in me to talk this in depth tomorrow.

Pierren: Son of Man

After an invigorating conversation today, I have decided to try writing more often. Today I feel the need to share my D-n-D character. Now I've never had a chance to use him, but that doesn't mean I can't give him a bit of a back story. Now I have very little first hand experience with any of the D-n-D worlds, so you'll have to forgive my lack of familiarity with certain subjects.

"Dear Father,

I hate nature. I hate the trees. Have you seen them?

I am really not very good at this blog thing, am I? No, empty void that is my reader base, I'm not. Well, I suppose I should back to work. Back to chronicling webcomics I'm fairly certain you aren't reading.

Boxer Hockey: What do you get when you cross Soccer with Polo with a Dash of Greco-Roman Wrestling and then threw in a genetically engineered frog in for the hell of it? Just the most awesome sport ever, that's what! Boxer Hockey Follows the American Team in the World Boxer Hockey League, Mechanical Penguin, as they rise in the ranks. The Team consists of Team Captain Skip, his wingmen Rittz and Billy Burrito and there goalie, Charlie, as well as Coach Tim Selleck. Who is totally NOT Tom Selleck of Magnum P.I. fame. Like many webcomics, it has gone through a bit of a rough patch, but it has been updating on a regular basis of once per week as of late. The art can be best described as abstract at times, with facial expressions distorting in to hilarious grimaces akin to those I'm most familiar with from Great Teacher Onizuka.

Ménage à 3: How long has it been since I talked about a webcomic which can be best described as Mature? I think it was all the way back in my first "Webcomics you probably haven't heard of." Unless we're counting the work of S. Saukrai, but this is more in between the two. While there is A LOT more nudity then Intragalctic, it still isn't as raunchy as Oglaf. Menage a 3 is your basic sitcom webcomic, centered on Gary, a down on his luck would be cartoonist who comes home one day to find his roommates ready to move out, leaving him with no one else to help pay rent. Luckily for him, they had the foresight to set out a want ad for new roomates. So before long he winds up with punk rock chick Suzi Aka Zii and Buxom French Canadian Desiré aka DiDi. Now as I mentioned this is a mature webcomic, with lots of female nudity and sex humor, but that 's really all there is. Theres no violence to speak of (except when it's funny) and the language is toned down (that or I've become desensetized to vulgarity). I don't want to go too in depth with the plot, so lets just say it's your standard "Guy trying his hardest to lose his virginty" story and be done with it. As for updates, at three strips per week with a very good consistency when it comes to sticking to this schedule, I have to commend Ménage à 3 for beign able to do something 90% of my the other comics haven't, and that's keeping up with Penny Arcade. Granted it's still ony around three years old, and may slip up a bit later down the line, but for now I'll enjoy it on a weekly basis.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lemurconspiracy.blogspot.com/2010/03/webcomis-have-you-seen-them.html' title='WEBCOMIS! Some strange unseen life form? A Wayward Vagabond lost miles from his home? No, it's just me. I apologize empty void of the internet, I know I should have been feeding you random info. As repentance, I promise twice the web comics from my last post.

The Slackerz: Here we have a webcomic that doesn't know what it wanted to be. It started out as just a random series about anything from the government stealing your teeth or the bad advice you receive from rapping hamsters. Now it's mostly another gaming comic. The change was slow, and apparently "fans" were unhappy with the general change, feeling that the internet is writhe with the two gamers on a couch routine. At least that's what I think happened, I showed up late to the game and only have Smith's word on the matter. The prerequisite author avatars are of Scotts Smith and Hepting. Smith is your basic bearded guy with glasses, while Hepting is a rooster man. Other regular characters include Matt, the fat orange haired Linux user who gave them a virus and is the honorary representative of all that is wrong with geek and nerd culture, Johnny Turbo, advertisement icon from the early nineties, and indiscriminate stick figure, their go to filler character. The humor itself is that of someone who knows they're doing something that's been done before and doesn't care. They're willing to poke fun at themselves over it. They now have a good balance of gaming and non-gaming humor. But since I tend to not pay attention to other peoples opinions of these sorts of things, I don't know whether anyone else is impressed.
Full Frontal Nerdity: Probably something closer to reality than most table top gaming comics are willing to admit. Just three guys and a web camera, huddled around a table rolling dice. No Dramatic depictions of whatever game their playing, no wacky aliens or robots, and most importantly, no women gamers. Now as I've stated before, I still have little to go on about table top games, and weregeek is the only other comic I know that's in this genre, but I feel that it painted this sort of thing in to positive a light. What they have is a best case scenario, where the players have an equal gender distribution and LARPing isn't all the odd, and while that may be true in some cases, FFN seems to be more anchored to the less glamorous parts of gaming. Of the three main characters, only one of them lives by themselves, they appear to be in their twenties or thirties, and are not the best looking bunch. One thing I'd like to point out is the art. Most web comics go through something called art evolution, a change in art as the years go by. But not all of them do, as is the case with FFN, where you can't tell todays strip from the ones posted all the way back in 2003. Which brings me to my number one fault with this comic: NO ACHIVE! Most web comics have the decency to at least have some sort of list of previous entries, but can be found here. This makes finding that one comic you really thought was hilarious nigh on impossible. The only safe bet is to bookmak the page When you plan on stopping, or write down the date the comic was posted. There's really not much you can do beyond this besides mindlessly hitting the next button, typing in random dates in the address bar, or simply just forgetting about it. I should point out it updates once a week on wednesday, so those of you crazy enough to actually try typing in the adress have at lesat some chance at getting results.Castle Vidcons: Now this is a smartly written comic that has the misfortune to have stopped updating for the last four months. Which is too bad, it was so original. No other comic commented on gaming like it, by using 17th century royalty in place of the consoles themselves. Sure a website might anthropomorphize the consoles on occasion, even as a running joke, but never as well as this. Political intrigue, assassinations, and even religious rituals are all used as commentary on the kind of in fighting famous amongst gamers. As with royalty, there really are no protaganists, merely warring kingdoms, with the most powerful being the oldest as well. The kingom of Nintendo is ruled by King Wii. He is a direct descendent of the Great King NES, brother of the Japanese Famicom. As is common among royalty, he is married to his sister, Queen DS. Their greatest Enemies include Lord Playstation the Second and his son Lord Playstation the Third, King XBox 360, and the Dread Pirate King PSP. Admittedley the humor can be very hard to understand, relying heavily on news of the gaming industry and never outright stating what they're talking about, but the message boards attached to each comic will help to explain anything that you don't understand.

Alright, this post is getting to long for my tastes. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, it's basically a parade of people in Zombie make up, usually as some kind of charity (This one was a food drive as well). Since a lot of people showed up this year, I suspect that another one is being planned for next year, so I once again take it upon myself to educate you on how to prepare yourself for the event.

1. Rest Up. Just like in my Halloween Horror Nights tips, I urge you to not do a lot of running around before hand. That is, unless you have good feet, you may wish to rest up long in advance, as these do last awhile. It's not as bad since you aren't just standing around on your feet most of the time, but walking like a zombie does get tiring after awhile. Speaking of which...
2. Work on your act. This is more like a suggestion, but it doesn't hurt to get into the spirit of things. Work on your shambling and moaning, maybe come up with a theme. Most people go as themselves with some make up, but what about going as Zombie Billy Mays? Or any number of other famous people.

Rules for enjoying Halloween Horror Nights

Last Sunday I managed to make it to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, and I've got to say that i was very disappointed in it. I guess I had set my expectations too high. Or maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time. So to help you get the most out of your experience, here are some helpful hints for your own experience.

1. Rest up!: I cannot stress this enough, but your basically going to be on your feet the whole time. This isn't your usual trip to Universal Studios, where you get to sit on every ride, show, and restaurant. You will be waiting on your feet to get into the Haunted Houses, to get out of the Haunted Houses, and waiting to get into The Bill and Ted Stage show. My advice is to pick between the two, either do the park in the day or wait to do Halloween Horror Nights in the evening. Your feet will thank you for this.

2. Take care of business: You know what I mean. Your greatest fear of the night should not be whether or not your have clean underpants. If you can stand it, I don't see why you can't use the park's facilities. Just remember that your in a theme park with hundreds of drunk college students, and the toilets aren't set to autoflush, so you can your chances if you really want to.

3. Don't Peek: As much as it pains me to point this out, but the primary source of entertainment from this is the jump scares. If you, like me, can't help but peek around every corner when you enter a room, then this probably isn't the event for you. But if you are the kind of irrational ninny who jumps at every loud noise and quick gust, than you might enjoy this. For the record, I did only two of the houses, and was disappointed in both, so I might be the wrong person to give advice on this matter.

4. Leave Bill & Ted for last: Now this only goes for those of you who actually want to see this. For those of you who don't know, Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure is the stage show they have every year that play's out like a Friedburg and Seltzer movie. For those of you turned off at that idea, I do have to say that it oddly works on such a small scale. You don't expect Hollywood level comedy from this, just jokes at the stupid things in the news or pop culture mixed with random dance numbers. But still, it is about half an hour long, so would advise that you do all the houses you want beforehand, because as I mentioned before, you don't get to rest your legs much throughout the event, and you don't want to remind yourself of how good it feels to sit that long.
and my most important tidbit of advice
5. Be a Drunken College Student: Unless you have a convincing fake I.D., you are not going to enjoy this as much as others. There is no doubt in my mind that this event is nothing more than a ploy to sell six dollar Jello shots to people who have just hit their twenty-first rotation around that big fireball in th sky, and are looking for any reason to get wasted. Maybe with enough drinks in me, even I'd be afraid of the fake blood and chainsaws. But this of course means bringing your wallet and lots of cash into a crowded place where often times you are being filed through a dark and distracting hallway with people you don't know behind you. It would be very easy for you to lose said wallet to someone you didn't notice, because you were to distracted by a fat guy caught in razor wire. Just keep that in mind the next time you find yourself pondering whether or not you want to go to this event.

I'm sorry if this took such a dark turn, but I feel that I was lucky to not have it to me, or even to anyone that I know, as far I'm aware. It's just that it's such a real threat that no one warned me about, and I just realized how easy it would be to lose your drivers liscence, your bank card, and whatever cash you had on you at the time. Anyway Happy Halloween and I hope these tips will help you to enjoy this event to it's fullest.

It hurts us, it hurts us.

Ahhh, what the f*** Marvel?! This kiddie sh*t was supposed to come after your buyout by Disney! I couldn't stand five SECONDS of this show! For those of you who haven't noticed yet. this is The Marvel Super Hero Squad, basically the Marvel Universe as portrayed by bobbleheaded children. So basically Jim Henson's Marvel Babies would be a good summation. Only difference is, Kermit the Frog never had adamantium claws, and Gonzo never had the Power Cosmic, athough I'm pretty sure Ms. Piggy did have the ability to devour planets. Now, I don't have a problem introducing children to your franchise, but that doesn't mean you have to spoon feed them this drivvle. Maybe it's just aimed at a younger crowed than I should've expected, but that didn't stop me as a child from enjoying the X-men and Spider-Man cartoons on Fox, and those are second only to Batman the Animated series for greatest cartoon based on a comic. Granted this is because Spider-Man had strict censorship, and X-men can only carry the other shows so much (I'm looking at you Avengers, Silver Surfer, and Iron Man), while Batman was the foundation for the Timmiverse, or DC Animated Universe, with classics like the Justice League cartoons and Static Shock. Hell, even Batman: the Brave and the Bold has more dignity than this tripe. With any luck, children will ignore this show and it will get cancelled five episodes in, and they'll go back to watching things like The Spectacular Spider-Man or the Brave and the Bold.

Yet even more webcomics you probably aren't reading

Hey hey, it's that time again. Time for me to introduce you to more webcomics that don't have that much coverage in my opinion. Now let's start this thing.

Bad Gods: Lore Sjöberg is the author of quite a few webcomics on his site, my personal favorite being Monster Manual Comix, just because I'm that big of a nerd. but my all time favorite strip from his strip comes from One Word: Cute. Let's just say it can be summed up in four words, "Huge Plush Charles Bronson!" And if you don't like comics, at least his Lore Brand comics come with the recipe for an alcoholic beverage.
Weregeek: Listen, if you've ever even considered playing a tabletop RPG, you should at least read the first chapter. Seriously, that's all I'm going to say, because anything else would be a spoiler.
Nerf NOW!: Really I just found thi when I was looking for Team Fortress 2 webcomics. It's really just a cute silent comic that covers popular Video Games like TF2, Starcraft, and sometimes a few others. Latley the author seems to have decided to introduce original characters in the form of Casual Kid, Hardcore Dad, and Old School Grandpa. I'll admit that even I don't understand all the jokes, since I don't regularly play TF2, and even then it's only on the Xbox 360, so I don't get some of the slang or the Class evolution week jokes. But if you've been playing it from the start, then maybe you might understand better.

And that's all for now. I've decided that I'm going to hold back on my #1 Mad Scientist until I get some followers, so as not to spoil it for new readers. I won't add it until I have five followers and a comment on each of my posts.

Top 5 Mad Scientists Part 2: Wrath of the Electric Boogaloo

Yesterday I sang my praises of the most misunderstood of scientists, The Mads. Whether it be their death rays or giant robots, one can't help but love their future Overlords, especially when they use a mind control device on you. Now on to the show
#3 Dr. Cube. What can be said about this living legend, other than "Please stop hitting me." Dr. Cube is a man who, unlike other Mad Scientists, isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and grapple with the heroes alongside his sins against god, especially in the case on his #1 monster Hell Monkey. Unfortunately for people just being introduced to the glory that is Cube, he has a very extensive back story, just like every one else on Kaiju Big Battel. It would be easier to just jump in and then hope to get filled in along the way, or you could just purchase the DVD's from KBB's website.

#2 Dr. Clayton Forrester. Now you might say, "Gee, Lemur, didn't he start out on television?" And to that I say, "Don't call me Lemur, cause that's not my name. And you try to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 this day and age without the use of the internet." Sure you could purchase some of the DVD's at Best Buy, or wait for the 1:00 A.M. Showing of MST3K: The Movie on Showtime, but good luck finding any other way to watch KTMA era episodes. So he stays, and if you don't like it, I'll shoot you into space. Where was I? oh yes, the genius that is Dr. Clayton Forrester. A whole generation of internet celebrities have him to thank for the brilliant punishment of making people watch horrible movies. Unfortunately they forget to make other people watch them, and instead submit themselves to unbearable movies for the amusement of others.

Now you may be asking yourself, "But who could possibly beat out the Original Mad?" to which I respond, "Stop talking to yourself you weirdo, or I won't tell you." And I won't. At least not tonight. In closing, remember to check in on Doc Mock's moview Masoleum, specifically episode 9, part 2 for a bit of my sage wisdom. Until tomorrow, farewell.

Top 5 Mad Scientists Part 1

I'd just like to draw some attention to some attention to some of the less appreciated individuals in the science community, that of the mads. Too long now have they been cast in a negative light, always equated with horrible abominations against God. Not all are complete monsters, and are merely misunderstood. Or is it underestimated. I always get those to confused. Without further ado, here are my top five Mad scientists on the web right now.

5. Dr. Insano. Whether it be utilizing the Giant Robot Neutro to destroy his enemy's house, or letting loose fire apes that are on fire to cause rampant chaos, or simply bringing SCIENCE into a shootout, Dr. Insano always has a way to ruin your day...with SCIENCE! What he lacks in elaborate costumes, he more than makes up for with persistance, even once coming close to destroying coming close to destroying all of Hypertime with the Anti-Comic equation, known only as Warrior #1. But that was an Elseworld story, so no one really cares about that.
#4 Doc Mock. Doc Mock has a masoleum, and he kept movies there so nobody could see 'em. But many years passed, and the time has finally come to bring the movies out to have a little fun. Cause these are the kind of movies that never go out of style, so why don't you sit back and enjoy yourself for a while. THe Doctor is in, and he's got something to say, " These crazy movies are going to blow you away." Doc Mock Host "Doc Mock's Movie masoleum, an internet show similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000 if crossed with Space Ghost, Coast to Coast. Every Friday night at 10 P.M. PST, 1 A.M. EST, Doc Mock has a celebrity guest join him, Miss Diagnosis, his lovely asissntant, and Lickey, the control booth monster, to watch old movies on their live stream show. Without further delay, here it comes, 5 more webcomics that I feel I need to inflict on the world

MSpaint Adventures:You are sitting in front of your computer, with your favorite search engine open. What do you do?
> Search for clever web comic that relies on its fans to suggest the next action that should be taken

The top result is for "Your web comic is bad, and you should feel bad" You feel cheated by the search engine and the idiot who suggested this action. What shall you do now
>Quite dicking around and just go to MSpaint Adventures
You are faced with the first page of a new adventure. Your task, name this child.
This is how the latest adventure starts. With four adventures in it's archives, with one complete, and one active, Homestuck. Very reliant on in jokes from previous adventures, and with an incredibly extensive archive, the major drawing factor of this comic is the user generated commands. Every adventure is presented like a classic point and click adventure in the vein of Monkey Island and day of the Tentacle. A unique experience you'll have trouble duplicating
is when the author uses your suggestion

Daisy Owl: Daisy Owl is one of the most serene web comics I've come across on the entire internet so far. It's stars Daisy and her brother Cooper as they are raised by their single adoptive Father. Did I mention he was an Owl? It's your standard slice of life sitcom, with the occasional awareness that their father is a talking owl who is best friends with a bear working in a honey factory run my a giant Queen Bee. If your tired of all the over the top, expletive laced comics you find every where else, give this soothing strip a chance.
Lil'formers: What started out as a bunch of single panel comics about Transformers most people wouldn't recognize has evolved in to a bunch of single panel comics about Transformers most people wouldn't recognize and with the occasianal multi-panel comic about more well known properties ranging from Megaman to Battle Star Galactica to more obscure references like the Centurions or Visionaries. With adorable art work and a nostalgia factor for thise young at heart, you'd be a fool to pass this up.Hijinks Ensue: Another pop culture Centric one here. The Main players in this are A stright White guy with a beard, a straight Mexican guy with a beard, and a gay White guy with a beard. Joel, Eli, and Josh, in case you were wondering what their names were, cover pretty much anything that cathches their interest, which might be why I like it so much. I'll let the final panel from one of their early comics speak for their interests as a whole. Rooster Teeth: Did you know that the guys behind Red vs. Blue, the most Awesome thing to happen to Halo, also have a web comic? Well they do, and it's great. Imagine Penny Arcade, only set in an office with the added bonus of trying to pin each character with their RvB counterpart. Though this has since been placed on indefinite hiatus, she does continue to update her earlier work of Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy, a parody of the Magical Girl genre of Anime. Instead of the cute little Lolicon girl in a sailor suit, she cast a chubby student named Tsugumi as the titular Princess. Finally theres her current work, Intragalctic, her Sci-Fi parody. It is not my personal favorite, probably because of my dislike for the Main character, Captain Benjamin T. Glee, the feamle equivilant between Captain Kirk, William Shatner, and Zapp Brannigan. S.Sakurai's work is comprable to Douglas Adams work, in that it's absurdist situations and does get referential often.

Oglaf: A NSFW comic set in a Swords and Sorcery world. While it does contain a lot of nudity, there are some work safe comics. Mostly sentered around a so far unnamed apprentice to a sexy sorceress, and the stress of not being able to get laid in a castle that makes Sodam and Gomorrah look like an an Abbey. It has been known to do stories about a couple of adventurers looking for the fountain of youth, the Farm boy with magic cum, Oglaf, and an invading force of Shape shifters, as well as several one shot characters like Simon the Wanderer.

Enough putting it off already

Alright.
